The 2010 season is under way and we are behind. We are thrashing to get things ready after a losing a motor at The Zmax Charlotte National Event last fall.
Ronny Morton, a longtime friend and former crew chief has rejoined the team and with his help we hope to rebound from a dismal season last year.
Our plans are to have the car ready for testing in mid-April and then look at a schedule. Depending on testing results, our schedule could include 4 NHRA Nationals Events and several divisional points meets in Division 2, 3, and 4.
Returning crew members are Carol Lucas (team manager with computer and weather station responsibilities) Jeff Williams (clutch), Bruce Shuck (bottom end man), Jay Weems (clutch man and engine starter), Chad Blanchard (bottom end and truck driver). Ronny and I will handle the top end of the motor.
All of these crew members are 100% volunteers, and without their dedication and hard work, none of this would be possible.

I received a surprising phone call from Nell Ruston McGilberry. I have been elected into the Robert E. Lee High School Hall of Fame for my 40 years of involvement and achievements in Drag racing.
Nell and I were students at the same high school in Montgomery, Alabama in the late 50’s. Nell is the leader and one of the many active members of my 1959 high school graduating class that keeps the Robert E. Lee High School spirit flying high. Through the efforts of people like Nell, Robert E. Lee has established a Hall of Fame. For the last 10 years this Hall of Fame has been recognizing former students for their many successful accomplishments during their lives after high school. Two other former classmates, Roger Stiffermire and Donnie Tucker along with Nell nominated me for this honor and the Hall of Fame committee accepted this nomination.
The induction ceremonies will take place at Robert E. Lee High School on April 16, 2010. I am deeply humbled by and very appreciative of this induction into the Robert E. Lee Hall of Fame.
